Untitled (chess clock) Untitled (chess clock) takes the Gonzalez-Torres work Untitled (Perfect Lovers), 1991, as its starting point. I have, in this case, replaced the clocks with a chess clock. Chess clocks comprise of two small clocks set next to each other. When the button above one of the clocks is depressed, that clock stops and the other one starts to run. In the piece, I have placed a mirror between the clocks so that, when viewed from the front, the clocks run alternately, depending on which side is depressed. When viewed from either side, the two clocks appear as mirror images of each other. |
