I approached Dorothee Kruetzfeldt to see if she would be interested in thinking around imaging Cosatu now. I had arranged for a wall close to the Cosatu head quarters for her to use. Dorothee, uncomfortable with the task, came back to me with the idea that she would like to produce a speculative backdrop for one of the Analogue films, Plainsong, which she had not seen at the time. The video had been previously filmed inside the meeting room at the Cosatu headquarters.
