Plainsong Single channel HD video, Stereo Audio
2011
Plainsong looks at belief in crisis and the resulting loss of a sense of identity. A shop steward, at a small factory, Tebogo, has just held an information session with the workers in his union. After delivering the news of negotiations with management resulting in a disappointing comprise, his lover, Ameera, also a worker at the factory, who has experienced work-related problems, approaches him as any of the employees would their shop steward. Tebogo feels unable to help her due to his own growing crisis and, as a result, his lack of confidence in his ability to lead or affect any change within his organisation. He pushes her away in a collapse of his ability to distinguish between personal life and work.
