Untitled (After Felix Gonzales-Torres) | Action, Glass | 2008
Untitled (After Felix Gonzales-Torres) was produced for the show Perfect Lovers at Art Extra in Johannesburg. The exhibition takes its title from Gonzales-Torres' Untitled (Perfect Lovers), 1991. My contribution to the show aimed towards furthering my own investigations into the issues raised by this specific work by Gonzalez-Torres while also acting as a tribute to the artist. I had two circles cut from the gallery window. The holes were each 15cm wide and cut as close together as possible. The two circular pieces of window that were removed from the rest of the pane were kept and displayed in the exhibition space.

This was made using two sheets taken from Felix Gonzales-Torres' post humus exhibition, America, at the 2007 Venice Biennale. The woman who became my fiancé gave one to me before I brought the second one back myself.
